Wright Concrete Products were recently contracted to supply Hollowcore Concrete Flooring to this multi-story dwelling in Donnybrook, Dublin. The award winning construction company, Carragoon Construction set a high standard in efficiency, attention to detail and constantly strive for the highest industry standard. With 4 phases of construction comprising of a basement, first and second floor with multiple levels in each floor, this contract required a high level of organisation and communication, demonstrating the capabilities of Wright’s design and dispatch teams.
Product Solution
After fully considering the live and additional loads subjected on the floor, our Engineering Team specified 150mm Prestressed Hollowcore Flooring for the Ground and Second Floors. Heavier loads on the first floor resulted in a combination of both the standard and dense variation of our 150mm Prestressed Hollowcore Flooring product. This beautiful design involved multiple steps and levels within each floor and required a keen eye for detail from Wright Concrete Product’s engineering, detailing, dispatch and fitting crews.
This luxury, private dwelling in South Dublin was erected on an existing site where a previous structure had been demolished. Slabs were supported by a mixture of formed in-situ concrete walls, block walls and structural steel supplied and sourced by both Wrights and Carragoon Construction. A tower crane was installed on site for the duration of the build. Our experienced fitting team installed over 350 square metres of flooring in 4 phases lasting 1 day each.
Wright concrete flooring offers better fire, sound and thermal insulation than timber flooring alternatives resulting in increased safety and comfort for the homeowner. The durability of concrete also adds to the market value for re-sale.
