Wrights were pleased to supply and install concrete pig slats for a recent project undertaken by one of Ireland and the UK’s leading pig housing and equipment specialists. The facility will finish 640 pigs every 3 months on contract for leading pig producers Malcolm Keys.
The pig finishing house consists of 16 pens, each holding 40 pigs. The feeding system is an important feature of this modern fattening house; a flexi auger transport system is used to transport feed to wet dry round feeders with 8 spaces per pen. Pigs will enter at around 35kg and despatched at a kill weight of around 115kgs.
Wrights 18mm spacing Euro-profile slat runs throughout the house to allow manure to fall below to an underground slurry tank. Wright concrete slats offer good grip and comfort for livestock along with efficient drainage, maximising pig efficiency.
Prior to installation, Wrights send out a technical representative for inspection. Care was taken by the Wright installation team to ensure concrete beams were placed perfectly level across the tank in advance of the careful placing of the 4 rib concrete slatted units.
The contractor then erected the surrounding structure and kitted out the facility offering a complete turn-key solution for the client. To find out more about this and other products, contact our technical sales team today.[Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”54″ gal_title=”AGR05″]
